Accelerators for Industry

Particle accelerators while ubiquitous in basic discovery science are not without significant merit in the industry. In fact, by number there are far more particle accelerators fully dedicated to industrial applications than any large basic science enabling machine. Many of these are small and often used for medicine, semiconductor manufacture, wastewater treatment etc.

In addition, particle accelerator technology can be useful in the development of technology not exclusive to particle accelerators. Examples of this include radiofrequency cavity design both (normal and superconducting) which can be used for a variety of functions including there active consideration in the context of quantum computing.

In the context of PBPL, we also develop infrastructure for cryocooler experimental integration that can be useful for the work done at many other companies associated with a variety of other products.

Some companies of potential interest include the following

  • HRL Labs
  • Intel
  • IBM
  • Thermo Fisher
